Europcar is the first company that is awarded the "World's Leading Green Transport Solution Company" by World Travel Awards
During the ceremony at the World Travel Awards 3 December 2008, the Turks & Caicos Islands in the West Indies, Europcar was awarded "World's Leading Green Transport Solution Company", an environmental award that was launched this year. Europcar was also voted the "World's Leading Car Hire" and "World's Leading Leisure Car Rental Company" for the fifth consecutive year.
World Travel Awards are the travel industry's "Oscar", with 167 000 tourism leaders who vote for the best company in the various categories, in 7 regions worldwide.
These three global prices shows not only the professionalism inherent in Europcar, but also the company's commitment to protect the environment: This is a double victory for the group, which now further strengthens its position in Norway and the No. 1 car rental company in Europe.

In June, Europcar announced that the company had received certification from Bureau Veritas for its "Environmental Charter", which formalizes the commitment for the protection of the environment. Bureau Veritas is a world leader in inspection and certification services related to quality, health, environment, safety and social responsibility, and this is the first certification of its type to be issued to a company in Europe.
These initiatives and the green environmental award underscores the innovative nature of Europcar which has made the environmental commitment of a fanesak for the next few years, which underlines the pioneering role the company has been in the industry.
